Unos minutos antes de las 8:00 pm se escuchaba detrás del telón del Teatro Metropolitan como los músicos de la orquesta llegaban y daban los últimos detalles a la afinación de sus respectivos instrumentos, al grito y chiflido de la impaciente audiencia. El reloj marcaba 8:10 pm y de repente se abrió el telón dejando ver la orquesta completa y los coros, empezando a tocar un intro para que acto seguido apareciera SEPTICFLESH (Christos, Seth, Sotiris, Krimh y Psychon) con ovación del público que inmediatamente se puso de pie abandonando sus butacas en un Teatro Metropolitan abarrotado y los primeros acordes de “Portrait of headless man” sonaban con energía, mientras los asistentes de todas partes de México e incluso de otros países (Grecia, Alemania, Rusia, USA entre otrosíes ) eufóricos alzaban su brazo y haciendo cuernos al compás de la música que iba creciendo con la intensidad de lo que prometía ser una noche inolvidable.Era el inicio de una velada intensa y de ensueño para los asistentes al igual para los integrantes de la banda que se notaban emocionados y nerviosos por este evento, su primer concierto sinfónico y su primer grabación para DVD, la orquesta por su parte estaba viviendo un momento increíble y nunca imaginaban esa respuesta del público metalero.
La banda prosiguió y Seth anunciaba “somos Septicflesh de Atenas, Grecia” y el público emocionado gritando y extasiado.
Su siguiente tema a interpretar fue “Martyr” con gran emoción la anunció y continuaron con “Prototype” con el coro de niños que relució, para seguir con “Pyramid God”, previamente cada una anunciada con su peculiar estilo “Mis amigos déjenme ver esos cuernos” e inspirando a los asistentes a responderle con los dichosos devil horns, aplausos y gritos de emoción.
El concierto se hacía más intenso y afloraban más emociones, Seth decía “empezaremos una de las melodías más complejas para la orquesta” y resonaron los primeros acordes de “Enemy of truth”, prosiguió con un inicio coral potente y el público identificó “Communion” donde todas las cabelleras y cabezas haciendo headbanging a la velocidad del compás de la potente música y la bestial voz de Seth. Al ir terminando este tema pronto pudimos notar como el coro de niños entró mientras Seth anuncia “The Vampire for Nazareth” para muchos una de las interpretaciones que se llevó la noche y la cual fue poderosamente ovacionada.
El concierto continuo con “Lovecraft’s Death” y la muy aclamada “Dante’s Inferno” que al sonar los primeras notas la gente la identificó y gritaban de emoción, la orquesta se lucia y “Persepolis” fue la siguiente con toda la fuerza y agresividad del tema tornando el climax cuando Sotiris entra a cantar con su voz limpia, con esta canción Seth dice “Gracias mis Amigos” y salen del escenario mientras la orquesta termina el tema y se apagan la luces.
Llego el Encoré para anunciar que pronto tan magnifica velada de ensueño llegaría a su fin y el director lleno de emoción empezó a alentar al público gritando “Septicflesh- Septicflesh “ mientras todo el Metropolitan y los músicos de la orquesta replicaban como grito de guerra pidiendo que Septicflesh regresara.
Septicflesh regreso al escenario con gran júbilo entre gritos y chiflidos para interpretar “A Great Mass of Death”, Al terminar el público pedía a gritos Anubis Anubis y Seth decía “ estoy seguro que saben de cual se trata la siguiente canción que cantaremos, sigamos la melodía de Anubis” con la cual el público recibió con gran júbilo, alegría y gran exaltación este himno de la banda.
Seth sacó una hoja en la cual dedicó sus agradecimientos al coro de niños y jóvenes de la UNAM, al coro Enharmonia Vocals y al gran maestro conductor Gerardo Urban con el cual se dio un fraternal abrazo.
Seguido de otro mensaje Seth anunciaba que finalizarían la noche con “Dark Art” añadiendo que esta noche habíamos presenciado arte por que al final todos somos arquitectos oscuros de este universo recuerden eso mis amigos con la cual fue el sello perfecto para finalizar un concierto de ensueño.
Para que esto fuera posible fue debido a la unión de las promotoras Symphonic Experience Concerts y Eyescream Productions además de la participación de la Symphonic Experience Orchestra tras la batuta de Gerardo Urban y Fernandez, el Coro de niños y jóvenes de la facultad de música de la UNAM y el Coro Enharmonia Vocals.
Sin duda este concierto ha marcado un antes y un después en la realización de conciertos de metal en México con tan grande producción y eficiencia, que han dejado una gran huella y algo difícil en superar. En conclusión fue la noche en que los sueños de un par de seres se convirtió en el de miles y la envidia de otros más que quedara plasmado en un material audiovisual que saldrá más adelante.
